Jim Smyth – The Reality of Hell (27 min)

Born in New Bliss, Co Monaghan, Ireland, Jim Smyth (1919-2012) grew up without a knowledge of the gospel. He was saved by the roadside at “Coopers Corner” in March 1947 aged 28. Baptised and then received into fellowship with the assembly in Drum, Ireland, Jim would eventually move to England and then to Scotland with employment. In 1963 he was commended to full time service and moved from Fife in Scotland to Surrey, south of London, England. After 15 years of gospel work in England he moved back to Scotland, settling in Livingston, West Lothian. Jim was a unique preacher with a fearless, fiery and fast delivery. He moved around the pulpit at a great rate and never lost the attention of his audience. God used him in the salvation of many souls. Here in this message, given in Ballymena on 25th January 1986, Jim preaches to an audience of Christians on the reality of hell and impresses the solemnity of the subject on every heart.
