John Douglas – Paul’s Humility (24 min)

Leaving School at the age of 13, John Douglas (1891-1976) started working down a coal mine in Lanarkshire, Scotland. Though he grew up in an ungodly home, by the grace of God John was converted at the age of 20 through the preaching of Robert Scott. His conversion ended his football career with Glasgow Rangers and made him no longer welcome in his own home. Baptised and received into the assembly at Larkhall, John would later be a “founder member” of the assembly in Ashgill in 1917. From the start, John was an avid student of the Scriptures and eventually came to be widely known in Scotland as an effective and able Bible teacher who left his mark for God. He was known for his pithy sayings some of which you’ll hear on this recording. Warning: you may need to be Scottish to understand this message on the humility of the apostle Paul – John Douglas had a broad Scottish accent!
