Born in Northern Ireland, Sam Curran (1921-1987) was saved in 1938 under the preaching of evangelists Joe Stewart and Fred Bingham. He married Miss Eleanor Alexander in 1944 and set up home in Mullavilly, near Portadown. In their 30’s, desiring to dedicate their lives to the Lord, the Currans developed a burden for full time service. Through prayer, and the encouragement of Mr John McCann Snr., they felt led to go to Brazil as missionaries in June 1958, settling in Osorio, in Rio Grande do Sul. Sam Curran preached the gospel in Brazil for over 30 years and was greatly used in the work of the Lord in that country. On 25th July 1987, Mr Curran was taken home to heaven very suddenly, just a few days after the sudden home-call of a fellow missionary Wilfred Glenn on July 12th. Both men, with their wives, left a lasting legacy of faithful service for Lord that has stood the test of time. (Ministry recorded in Lurgan Gospel Hall, Northern Ireland)
