Harold Paisley – 50 Years in the Work (57 min)

Gospel Tent, Belfast, 1960’s

Harold Spurgeon Paisley (1924-2015) tells his testimony elsewhere on this site (HSP testimony) but here in this recording he recalls 50 years of labour in the gospel and in the ministry of the Word. Starting in 1945, the year after he was saved, in Carnlough, Enniskillen and Fivemiletown, Mr Paisley launched out in gospel work. In the early days he worked with men like Thomas Campbell, Joe Stewart and Thomas Wallace. He tells how in 1949 he preached in Mullahara, Co Monaghan, where Mr W.J. Nesbitt and Mr Ernie Gribben were saved, and then baptised in a nearby stream that they dammed up for the purpose! In 1967 Mr Paisley went to North America and held large Tent meetings in Vancouver and Los Angeles. In Iowa (USA) he preached with Oliver Smith and others, and in the town of Allison after a fruitful series of gospel meetings he baptised 28 in one day, with 800 standing on the river bank. The story of those 50 years will encourage and challenge you as you hear what God did in a former day through the preaching of the gospel.
