Norman Crawford – 50 Years in Gospel Work (39 min)

Mr Norman Crawford (1927-2013) relates the story of 50 years of gospel labour in Canada and the USA. Saved on Friday 1st April 1938 soon after the tragic death of his older brother, Mr Crawford became heavily involved from his earliest days in open air preaching and tract distribution in his home city of Toronto, Canada. Launching out at the age of 19 into full time service for the Lord, he joined with older evangelists like Lorne McBain and Louis Brandt, who taught and trained him in the work of gospel preaching. Mr Crawford tells the thrilling and instructive stories of how the gospel came to places like Mansfield (Ohio), Oil Springs (Ontario), Antioch (Iowa) and Battle Creek (Michigan) and how assemblies were formed and Gospel Halls were built in those towns. Sometimes preaching every night for 6 months, or even a year, Mr Crawford laboured with many of the Lord’s servants including John Kember, Sydney Maxwell and Harold Paisley. This is a unique recording (given in Vancouver in 1996) from a man who had wide experience of the Lord’s work over several decades (He says in this message that he had personally known 150 full time preachers during his lifetime that had died and gone to be with the Lord). The testimony will encourage and challenge your heart.
