W.J. Nesbitt – How I Was Saved (28 min)

William John Nesbitt (1927-2017) was born into a farming family in Northern Ireland, the seventh in a family of ten. After School he joined the Police. When he was sent to serve in a Police Station in Rosslea, Co Fermanagh, he met sergeant John Thompson who was mightily used of the Lord at that time to see several of his colleagues saved including Mr Nesbitt, who he took to hear the gospel preached by Harold Paisley (to hear the “Rosslea story” click here). Mr Nesbitt and his newly saved colleague Mr Gribben were baptised by Harold Paisley in the River Finn, after which they joined with the believers in the Gospel Hall, Clones, Co Monaghan. Married to Helen Crawford in 1957, the Nesbitts were commended to full time service for the Lord in 1957. “W.J.”, as he was known, was a unique character who lived a long and fruitful life, preaching the gospel and ministering the Word of God for more than 60 years. His heart was in gospel work, sharing in constant series of gospel meetings with many fellow-labourers, on several occasions preaching nightly for more than 20 weeks in a row. In this recording, Mr Nesbitt preaches on John 3:16 and includes details of his own conversion to God. Reading: John 3:16 (Message preached in Bryn Mawr, USA, 2007)
