It’s amazing what God uses sometimes to wake people up to their need of salvation. Robert Orr, from Iowa, USA, grew up hearing the gospel, even being privileged to sit under the preaching of giants like Oliver Smith and Louis Brandt. However, he remained careless about his soul…until one day, in August 1950, in the middle of a casual conversation, a neighbouring farmer looked down at his old work shoes and said “I’m gonna lose my sole.” Immediately Robert’s mind turned to his need of salvation, lest he lose his soul. 58 years later, at LaCrosse Conference in Wisconsin, Robert rose to his feet and related the story of how shortly after this incident, God saved his soul!
