I Was a Marxist Revolutionary (45 min)

Alec Catchpole grew up not knowing the gospel. Leaving School he got into drugs and soon became an addict. Then he was seduced by the ideas of Karl Marx and became an activist for socialism, even taking part in the riots at the Wapping dispute in 1986. He was full of hate, believing the only answer to the UK’s problems was a revolution where the workers take over the means of production, leading to a communist utopia. However, travelling to Dominica he found people who had already experienced a revolution but it hadn’t made things better! They told him about Christ and by the grace of God Alec was brought to repentance and faith. Reading: 1 Tim 1:12-17 (Testimony given in Ballymena 12th Nov 1994)
