Thomas Campbell – Anticipating Heaven (16 min)

Hear the voice of a preacher who was born in 1873! Thomas Campbell (1873-1964) first heard the gospel in Dublin while training to be a Policeman. Soon after, he was saved – on 14th April 1899 – through Isaiah 53:5. Later, when he saw the truth of gathering to the Lord’s name, he came into fellowship with the assembly meeting in the Gospel Hall in Letterkenny. He served the Lord for many years as an evangelist and saw many hundreds saved, and assemblies formed in Lungs, Sion Mills and other towns. Among others, Harold Paisley was greatly influenced by Mr Campbell. Speaking in Larne in 1983, Mr Paisley told of the time he stood with Mr Campbell (then age 91) in a graveyard in Macosquin. Looking at the graves of Mr Campbell’s parents, and his 5 brothers and their 5 wives, the aged evangelist said, “Harold, I pointed them all to Christ before I ever stood on a gospel platform.” In this recording, Mr Campbell brings comfort and hope for the Christian from the anticipation of heaven.
